The smartVRU is intended for Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) use-cases as defined by the ITS-G5. It is designed for use on Vehicle-to-Bicycle (V2B) communication such as e-bikes, moped, kickstart scooters but since its low power and can be powered from a battery pack it could also be integrated in traditional bicycles. Next to V2B the board is also targeted for Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) communication, in this case the smartVRU would be worn by a person (e.g. road workers) to identify themselves to the approaching traffic and/or warn them for approaching danger.
